Treating the Whole Patient: The Medical and Psychological Aspects to Successful Use of Real-Time CGM

Dexcom Webinar During Virtual ISPAD
Thursday, October 15 from 1:35 – 2:35 PM CDT
11:35 AM – 12:35 PM PDT / 2:35 – 3:35 PM EDT / 20:35 – 21:35 CET

This education program focuses on the importance of treating the whole patient when looking to introduce real-time CGM into their diabetes treatment regimen. Pediatric patients and families benefit from a multi-disciplinary approach with both their Pediatric Endocrinologist and Behavioral Therapist, especially when assessing the patient’s readiness to start rtCGM, overcoming individual barriers, and providing the patient and families with skills for the successful start and ongoing use of this technology. This education program addresses the psychological aspects and counseling best practices of introducing real-time CGM to technology-naïve patients as well as optimizing the patient’s medical management and glycemic control through the use of rtCGM.
